EVESHAM TWP., NJ – A 49-year-old man, Amandeep Singh, was apprehended in South Jersey after allegedly committing a double homicide in Virginia. Singh reportedly fled to Burlington County in an attempt to locate his estranged family.
Early Sunday morning, Evesham Township police responded to reports of a man brandishing a firearm outside a Kelly Drive residence. Upon their arrival, the suspect had already left the scene. Authorities soon identified Singh as the suspect, having traveled from Prince William County, Virginia, to find his estranged wife.
Singh was discovered in Medford Township on Tuesday, where he was taken into custody without incident. During the arrest, police found Singh in possession of several weapons, including a .40 caliber handgun, an AK47 rifle, and four fully loaded high-capacity magazines.
Following his arrest, Singh was transported to the Virtua Hospital Marlton Campus for evaluation and treatment unrelated to his detention. At the hospital, he allegedly assaulted an Evesham officer, though the officer was not injured.
A welfare check at Singh’s Virginia home revealed the bodies of 45-year-old Joshua Lee Davis and 45-year-old Nicole Wanda Lynn Davis. Both victims received fatal gunshot wounds, with the crime reportedly occurring on Saturday, a day before the incident in New Jersey. The couple had been renting the basement living area of Singh’s residence.
Singh now faces multiple charges across New Jersey and Virginia, including murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated assault on law enforcement, and possession of weapons with unlawful purpose.
The investigation into these incidents is ongoing.
