SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Police in Scottsdale have arrested Julian Nixon, 43, following allegations of illegal recording and voyeurism. The investigation began after a tip from his ex-girlfriend, leading to an arrest on felony charges.
Nixon, known to have met women through dating apps, allegedly recorded them without their knowledge in his bedroom. He appeared in court recently, where a judge set his bond.
The case unfolded when Nixon’s former girlfriend discovered three iPhone boxes with strategically cut holes, allowing cameras to capture footage. These boxes were aimed directly at the bed, raising suspicions.
After filing a police report, authorities conducted a search, uncovering over 110 videos allegedly documenting encounters dating back to 2016. Detectives spent months identifying the women involved, with four agreeing to press charges.
Nixon defended his actions, claiming the recordings were for protection against false accusations. He stated the footage was meant to demonstrate consent, although police found no evidence supporting this claim.
The recordings were reportedly stored in a cloud-based system, though specifics were not disclosed. Investigators have not found evidence of the videos being shared online, but concerns remain.
Authorities are encouraging anyone who might have dated Nixon or visited his apartment to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and Nixon is due back in court next week.
