Man Brutally Stabbed to Death by Longtime Friend, Wife Also Attacked

Candelario Cordova, a 53-year-old man from Huntington Station, has been indicted for the murder of his longtime friend and coworker, Roque Cisneros. Cordova is also facing charges for assaulting Cisneros’ wife, who tried to intervene during the attack.

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney stated that the victim’s wife witnessed the horrific murder of her husband, and when she attempted to intervene, Cordova turned the knife on her. Tierney emphasized that such acts of violence would not be tolerated in Suffolk County.

The incident occurred on February 16, 2023, when Cisneros’ wife saw her husband in the front passenger seat of an SUV, with Cordova in the driver’s seat. She noticed Cordova trying to remove Cisneros from the vehicle before driving off.

In response, she followed them in her car. Cordova eventually stopped the SUV on Oakwood Road and grabbed a knife from the trunk. At this point, he began stabbing Cisneros repeatedly in the neck and body. As Cisneros’ wife attempted to stop the attack, Cordova slashed and stabbed her as well.

Passing motorists witnessed the gruesome scene and intervened, managing to subdue Cordova until Suffolk County Police Department officers arrived. The knife used in the attack was recovered at the scene.

Cisneros tragically succumbed to his injuries, while his wife was taken to Huntington Hospital for treatment of her stab wounds.

On March 22, 2023, Cordova was arraigned before Supreme Court Justice John B. Collins. He now faces charges of several murder and assault charges.

Judge Collins ordered Cordova to be held without bail.
