Man carjacks eight drivers and robs a bank all before being captured

DALLAS, TX – An audacious crime spree that unfolded across Dallas on Friday culminated in the arrest of 55-year-old Gregory Noble. According to authorities, what began as a seemingly routine theft quickly spiraled into a day of chaos and danger, leaving a trail of stolen vehicles in its wake.

The ordeal began in University Park, where police allege Noble stole a truck, which had a firearm inside. The situation escalated when a bank on Preston Road was robbed by a suspect matching Noble’s description, prompting a citywide alert.

From there, the suspect’s path of destruction continued to an Audi dealership on Lemmon Avenue. Employees reportedly faced threats as Noble brazenly carjacked a vehicle from the service department. His next stop was a nearby Porsche dealership, where the attempt to steal another car was thwarted by his inability to start it.

Undeterred, Noble proceeded to an elementary school in the vicinity, where he attempted another carjacking. After failing to commandeer a parent’s vehicle, he allegedly held the school’s principal at gunpoint and made off with their car.

The saga continued at the intersection of Rosser and Forest Lane, where Noble was involved in a collision. In a startling turn of events, police say he carjacked one of the drivers involved in the accident, marking the fourth vehicle commandeered that day.

Noble’s spree did not end there. He is accused of carjacking yet another vehicle in Farmers Branch along Stemmon’s Freeway, and then again in Coppell. The final act of his rampage occurred in Irving, where police say he seized a 2004 Toyota from its driver.

As the day drew to a close, Noble was finally apprehended in Trinity Groves after a high-speed chase that ended in a crash. He was taken into custody by SWAT officers and is now being held in the Dallas County Jail.

While the motive behind Noble’s crime spree remains unclear, records indicate he served a two-year sentence a decade ago in a Texas prison for evading arrest in Dallas. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the series of carjackings and other crimes committed over the course of the day.
