Man found dead sitting on chair in mysterious homicide

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A man’s death in a residence on the west side of Indianapolis has prompted a homicide investigation by local authorities. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were called to the scene of the man’s death late at night on Monday. The emergency call was made concerning a potential fatality at a home on the 500 block of S. Holt Road.

Upon their arrival, officers interacted with the occupants living at the home. They reported that the deceased individual had been seated and was experiencing abnormal patterns of breathing. IMPD Lt. Shane Foley shared these details in a homicide brief that was made accessible to the public on Wednesday.

Emergency medical services arrived shortly after the police, declaring the individual dead at the scene. The IMPD later determined the deceased person to be an adult male. Homicide detectives from the IMPD were also present at the scene.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office has since confirmed the death as a homicide. The identity of the victim is expected to be released later on after the next-of-kin have been notified, as per police reports.
