Man goes to ex-girlfriend’s house and shoots her new lover in the head

In a shocking domestic dispute in Jackson, Georgia, a man is now in custody in Butts County following a serious assault on his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend. Armed with a gun, the man allegedly forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s home on Bonnies Way, discovering her in bed with her new partner before shooting him in the head.

The incident took place on Sunday morning around 11 a.m. The victim, despite the critical nature of his injury, was reportedly conscious and able to answer questions from deputies.

He was taken to a local hospital for urgent medical attention. The exact location of the wound on his head remains undisclosed.

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the suspect managed to flee the scene. However, thanks to modern surveillance technology, he was swiftly apprehended, according to Butts County Sheriff Gary Long.

Throughout the county, Flock cameras have been installed in strategic locations, and several households in the neighborhood where the shooting took place have also equipped their properties with surveillance devices. These community resources played a significant role in identifying and locating the suspect, as footage recovered by investigators aided in the speedy progression of the case.

Among these resources, Ring doorbell cameras installed by local residents notably assisted in spotting the suspect. Initially, the incident was reported to the deputies as a potential home invasion. However, upon arrival, it became clear that the situation had escalated into a violent confrontation involving a firearm.

The incident became more distressing with the revelation that children were present in the home during the shooting. Fortunately, none of them were injured in the ordeal.
