Man murders ex-wife and her new boyfriend

NEW MARKET, MD – A suspect has been arrested in relation to a gruesome double murder case in New Market, Maryland, Frederick County authorities have confirmed. David Phillip Turner, aged 33, is charged with the murders of Crimea Baker, also 33, and Sean Lange, aged 34. The victims, a couple who shared a home on Mansalong Court, were reportedly shot dead while in bed.

Their children were in the home at the time, reportedly hiding for hours after their parents had been shot. Turner is identified as Baker’s ex-spouse, and the crime is being treated as a domestic incident, possibly a crime of passion.

Turner was apprehended at a beach location and is currently detained in Frederick County Jail. Despite the arrest, Sheriff Chuck Jenkins states that the incident is still being thoroughly investigated to establish the full sequence of events.

Details divulged during an August press conference revealed the extent of the brutal attack. The perpetrator had reportedly fired 42 rounds into the victims at close range, with corresponding 40-caliber shell casings found at the scene.

Although the shooting took place around 1:30 a.m. on August 25, deputies did not arrive until approximately 7 a.m. Sheriff Jenkins attributed this delay to the children’s hesitance in leaving their hiding place out of fear. It remains unconfirmed whether one of the children made the emergency call.

The couple’s four children were discovered unscathed. Lange was the biological father of one of the children. The tragic incident left the survivors devastated, according to Sheriff Jenkins. He described the crime as one of “rage and anger,” sending shocks throughout the Frederick County community.
