Man sets himself on fire outside hotel

BOSTON, MA – A disturbing event took place outside a downtown hotel in Boston, where a man apparently set himself on fire, as per surveillance footage of the area. The alarming incident occurred Wednesday evening around 8:15 at the Four Seasons hotel. Responding to the scene were numerous police officers who began an investigation and examined vehicles in the vicinity.

Boston EMS confirmed that the man suffered severe burn injuries. The local police were assisting with the investigation, and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office acknowledged awareness of the incident. However, authorities have not yet provided additional details.

The footage captured the man pacing outside the hotel before suddenly being engulfed in flames. Witnesses on the scene rushed to his aid in an attempt to extinguish the fire. One tourist from France reported that her boyfriend heard the man screaming before using his backpack to try to smother the flames.

Jeferson Zapata, another witness, told Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra that before the man ignited himself, he doused gasoline over his body. “I tried to throw water on him,” said Zapata, noting that others in the area attempted the same.

The man’s motives for committing this act remain unclear at this present time.
