Manager who killed 7-Eleven employee still has not been arrested

LOS ANGELES, CA – The tragic death of a 24-year-old employee at a local 7-Eleven has left many unanswered questions, as authorities continue to investigate the incident without making any arrests. The victim, Jessica McLaughlin, died following a confrontation with her manager at the convenience store on Melrose Avenue.

Kyra Meierbachtol, the roommate of the manager involved, has finally decided to speak out, expressing disbelief and frustration over the lack of legal action. She described the harrowing moment she learned about McLaughlin’s death, saying it felt surreal and left her in a state of shock and fear.

Meierbachtol recalls the manager’s demeanor on the night of the altercation as frazzled and shocked. The incident occurred on June 24, and McLaughlin was later declared brain dead after allegedly being brutally beaten by her manager inside the store.

Despite the severity of the situation, no arrest has been made, leaving Meierbachtol and McLaughlin’s family seeking answers. “It felt like the Twilight Zone,” she said, questioning why there seems to be no urgency in the investigation.

Fearful for her safety, Meierbachtol has moved out of the shared residence, reaching out to city services for assistance. She also took to TikTok, where a video voicing her concerns quickly went viral, amplifying her call for justice.

In her communication with law enforcement, Meierbachtol was informed that a homicide detective is involved, yet no active warrants have been issued. The lack of progress in the case has been distressing for those close to McLaughlin, who are eager for justice.

Efforts to contact the manager for her perspective have been unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Meierbachtol remains in contact with McLaughlin’s family, hoping for a resolution.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the investigation is ongoing but provided no additional details. Similarly, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office has yet to respond to inquiries, and the medical examiner has not released an official cause of death.
