FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Eric Reed, a pastor already embroiled in multiple legal battles, was arrested once again, adding to his growing list of troubles with the law. Reed found himself back in custody after allegedly stealing a luxury vehicle from a Miami dealership, authorities said.
The arrest took place in Pembroke Pines, where police discovered Reed in an Avis rental car parking lot. He was allegedly in possession of a stolen gray Land Rover, according to the arrest report obtained by our sources. The vehicle was reportedly taken after Reed provided a fake wire transfer to the dealership that owned it.
Eric Reed is no stranger to controversy, having previously made headlines for various legal issues. In February 2022, he was arrested in Miami-Dade County for allegedly writing bad checks. At that time, attempts to get a comment from him were unsuccessful as he was bonding out of jail.
Reed’s legal troubles date back several years. In 2017, he faced five felony charges after postal worker Eddie Fuller accused him of fraudulently obtaining the deed to his home and selling it for $380,000. Despite the severity of past allegations, the current charges are considered less severe, though they highlight a concerning pattern for a man expected to lead his community.
In the latest court appearance, Reed was charged with grand theft auto, and the judge set his bond at $2,000 with the condition of no contact with the victim. He currently has pending charges in both Miami-Dade and Broward County, which complicates his legal situation further.
Reed has posted bond at the Broward County Jail, but he has not yet been released. Upon his release, it remains to be seen how he will address the latest allegations he faces.
The community and those who have followed Reed’s legal saga closely are left questioning how a pastor, who is supposed to guide others toward righteousness, continues to find himself entangled in such serious legal matters.
