Police Arrest Murder Suspect Who Was Found ‘Naked and Covered in Blood’

London Police have arrested a man, aged 53, on suspicion of murder after he was found “naked and covered in blood” at a flat in Bermondsey, South East London.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening. Police arrived at the property on Canute Gardens after receiving reports of welfare concerns. Upon entering the home, police found the body of a 46-year-old mother of two, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect was treated by paramedics at the property before being taken to hospital for treatment, and he has since been discharged and taken into custody at a south London police station.

Neighbors in the area have reported hearing screams and arguing coming from the ground-floor property just before police arrived. One woman, who has lived in the area for 20 years, described how the suspect was brought out of the property by police naked and covered in blood.

Police then put a silver foil blanket over him and took him away in handcuffs. It is believed that the man and the deceased woman knew each other.

Three police vans, four police cars, and several officers were dispatched to the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
