SCOTTSDALE, AZ – A major investigation is underway after a violent shooting broke out at an Albertsons grocery store. The gunfire resulted in two men being critically injured. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Aug. 6 near Scottsdale and Thomas Roads.
According to the Scottsdale Police Department, the incident began with three individuals engaging in an argument outside the grocery store.
However, the situation quickly escalated when they moved inside the Albertsons, and the shooting took place near the self-checkout area.
Following the shooting, one of the injured men collapsed near the front of the store while the other managed to exit the store, only to be found later at the back of Albertsons. Both men are currently in critical condition.
The police are trying to ascertain whether both injured individuals shot each other or not. They are also interviewing the third person involved in the initial argument. The account of multiple witnesses and analysis of security footage are also integral to the ongoing investigation.
