Six people found dead in murder-suicide after deadly shooting turned into house fire

In an unfortunate event in Sequatchie, Tennessee, west of Chattanooga, authorities found three children and three adults dead. This happened after they responded to a shooting report at a house that was later engulfed in flames on Thursday.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation stated that the person presumed to have caused the havoc was also among the deceased, though the individual was not immediately identified.

Marion County Sheriff Ronnie “Bo” Burnette shared that the horrifying event appeared to stem from a domestic situation that took a turn for the worst.

Following the incident, the remains of the victims were transported to Nashville for post-mortem examinations, as mentioned by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Specific information regarding their cause of death has yet to be revealed.

Aside from the six deceased, an adult with gunshot wounds was found alive at the scene and subsequently rushed to a hospital in Chattanooga for treatment.

Eyewitnesses in the vicinity reported hearing gunshots at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Law enforcement from the local Sheriff’s department and Jasper, Tennessee police responded to a shooting report at the home shortly before 9 p.m., as detailed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the house had been set ablaze. The remains of the victims were located after the fire department managed to extinguish the flames.
