Six individuals have been hospitalized, with two in critical condition, following a shooting on the south side of Peoria, Illinois. The shooting happened on Wednesday night, according to the Peoria Police Department. At approximately 9 p.m., authorities responded to two alerts about shots fired in the area. The first report indicated that about 10 shots were fired on W. Marquette Avenue. The second report revealed that an additional 19 shots were fired as well.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered multiple individuals injured, the majority of whom had sustained gunshot wounds. The Peoria Police Department confirmed that five people were shot, while one person suffered a laceration wound. All victims were swiftly transported to a local hospital for treatment. Among the injured, an adult male and a juvenile male are currently listed in critical condition, while the other three victims, all males, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
