Responding to a shooting report at around 1:39 a.m. on Sunday, deputies discovered a gunshot victim at the residence. Soon after, multiple calls about other shooting victims arriving at local hospitals started pouring in, tallying the total number of people shot to six.
One of the shooting victims, a 17-year-old, is reported to have life-threatening injuries. Additionally, four men in their 20s and a 19-year-old woman received gunshot wounds that are non-life-threatening. Initial investigations indicate there are likely multiple shooters involved, but no suspects have been apprehended yet.
Locals have expressed shock at the violent incident, considering they live in what is typically a quiet neighborhood. Neighbors reported their awareness of the ongoing party due to noise and parked cars lining up the street. However, no one reported hearing gunshots.
Cheyenne Newingham, a resident living a few houses down, expressed hope for justice. She reiterated how such a crime was unusual for their neighborhood.
It’s also been noted by some residents, who chose to remain anonymous, that they’ve seen other parties at this rental house. On platforms like Airbnb and VRBO, the house was advertised as an “ideal place for events” offering “15-car parking.” The PCSD and CrimeStoppers are urging anyone with information about the suspects or the shooting to come forward.
