Six people shot at Waffle House, one dead

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – An altercation at a Waffle House in Indianapolis resulted in a deadly shooting early Monday morning, leaving one person dead and five others injured, according to local authorities.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived at the scene shortly after midnight following a report of a shooting incident. The officers discovered five individuals at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds. All five were rushed to local hospitals, where one of the victims eventually succumbed to their injuries.

An additional victim was being treated at Methodist Hospital, though it’s unclear whether this individual self-transported or was taken there by someone else.

Based on initial statements from victims and witnesses at the scene, authorities believe the shooting was the outcome of a dispute between two groups. It’s yet to be confirmed whether any of the wounded are among the suspected shooters.

Investigators have recovered two firearms related to the incident – one from a vehicle at Methodist Hospital and another at the Waffle House scene.

Among the wounded, three men and one woman are reported to be in stable condition, while the male victim at Methodist Hospital is in critical condition.

Waffle House, the venue of the tragic incident, has confirmed its cooperation with law enforcement as they pursue investigations.
