Skydiver dies after crash-landing in front yard

TITUSVILLE, FL – A horrific skydiving accident that resulted in the death of an unidentified man was captured on surveillance footage in Titusville, Florida. The incident occurred around 12:25 pm on Saturday, with the man’s descent visible in the reflection of a car window parked in a residential driveway.

The skydiver, dressed in bright yellow parachute gear, hit the pavement and was found unresponsive. James Sconiers, the homeowner and a Vietnam veteran, discovered the man and attempted to communicate with him. However, he received no response from the skydiver.

Sconiers expressed confusion and concern over the incident, questioning why the skydiver fell so hard despite the safety measures typically in place for such activities. “Something tells me there’s a problem there,” he said.

Authorities located the man approximately a block away from Arthur Dunn Airpark, which houses the Skydive Space Center. The center, however, declined to comment on the incident when approached by local media. It remains unclear whether the skydiver was alone or part of a group at the time of the accident.

The Titusville Fire Department acknowledged the incident in a post, stating, “Skydiver down. Report of skydiver down on Merry Ln. this located just adjacent to Arthur-Dunn Airpark.” More details about the circumstances that surround the accident have not yet been released to the public.

Sconiers emphasized the need for answers, particularly from a safety perspective. Titusville Police have assured that more information will be provided upon completion of their investigation.
