Stray bullet leaves teen mom dead at house party

GRAYSON, GA – In a tragic incident in Georgia, an 18-year-old woman was reportedly found dead at a house party in Grayson. Gwinnett County Police Department identified the young woman as Shania Green.

According to the police department, they received reports of a shooting at a house early Friday morning. Upon arrival, officers found Green’s body at the residence. Green was located on the back patio of the house, presumed to have been shot in the head.

Green’s aunt, Sade Long, publicly spoke about the tragic incident, suggesting that her niece had been killed by a stray bullet during the house party. A series of shots had reportedly been fired from outside the residence, one of which struck Green.

An area local reported hearing multiple gunshots that night and submitted cellphone footage to a local news organization. The footage displayed numerous young adults fleeing the house. However, details regarding potential suspects or motives have yet to be confirmed by the police department.

According to Long, the homeowner was away during the event. The family is currently collecting funds to assist with funeral expenses through a GoFundMe campaign set up by Long.

As Gwinnett County police continue to investigate, they have extended an appeal to the public for any further information relating to Green’s death.
