MIAMI GARDENS, FL – A fatal shooting event in Miami Gardens has left one man dead and another critically injured on Sunday night, with police reporting that someone followed them from a party before opening fire on their vehicle. In a tragic twist, three toddlers were present inside the car when the shooting occurred.
Responding to the incident near 183rd Street and 45th Avenue shortly after 9:30 p.m., police found a white Nissan under attack. The driver, 20-year-old Mah’ki Eugene Cutler, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger is in critical condition at a local hospital. Thankfully, the three toddlers riding in the back were unscathed and have been reunited with their relatives.
Diana Delgado, a Miami Gardens Police spokesperson, was thankful that the children weren’t injured in such a grim event. In a heartbreaking twist, the deceased man, Cutler, was related to one of the children in the car, whereas the injured survivor is related to the other two little ones.
Cutler’s mother, Antoya Thompson, mourned her son’s loss and appealed to the community for answers. She asked for witnesses to step forward and provide any crucial information that might help depict a more precise picture of the tragic event. She stressed that her son was wrongfully targeted and did not deserve such a malicious fate.
The authorities are on the lookout for a dark-colored SUV believed to be involved in the shooting. The case is presently under investigation, with a strong suspicion that this could be a targeted and potentially gang-related incident.
