Teen arrested in connection with two violent armed robberies

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 17-year-old faces serious charges following two violent robberies that occurred within a single day, according to San Antonio police. The teenager, Raymond Crawford III, is accused of brazenly assaulting an armored truck driver and is also linked to another robbery through critical evidence.

The series of events began last Tuesday when an armored guard was attacked while servicing an ATM on the 1100 block of Goliad. Police reports indicate that two suspects leaped from a black Chevy Malibu, with Crawford allegedly placing the guard in a chokehold and threatening him with a firearm to demand money.

After securing the cash and the guard’s service weapon, Crawford and an accomplice, identified as Rosy Jackson, fled the scene. Authorities issued a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert for the vehicle, leading to its swift location and the arrest of Crawford. Jackson attempted to escape but was quickly apprehended.

Investigators managed to recover some of the stolen money nearby, though they continue to search for the missing firearm. Further investigation revealed that the same vehicle was used in another robbery just a day prior.

This earlier incident took place outside a shopping center on Judson Road. Detectives allege that Crawford ambushed another victim, employing similar tactics by using a chokehold and a pistol to steal a backpack containing $5,000. A photograph taken by a witness was instrumental in connecting Crawford to both crimes.

While Jackson has not been charged in relation to the Judson Road robbery, questions remain about Crawford’s potential involvement in other recent ATM robberies. Police have yet to confirm whether he is a suspect in those ongoing investigations.

Crawford is currently in custody with a bond set at $200,000. The investigation continues as authorities work to piece together the full scope of these criminal activities.
