Teen gets shot in the face while trying to look for a photoshoot location

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CO – A 17-year-old boy is hospitalized with serious injuries after being shot in the face by a town council member following a trespassing incident. The council member, Brent Metz, 38, faces charges of first-degree assault and illegal discharge of a firearm, among others.

The incident unfolded on Tuesday afternoon when the homeowner reported two trespassers on her property. Deputies arrived to find the injured teen and his friend, who was applying pressure to his wounds. The victim stated that Metz shot him through his car windshield.

According to the sheriff’s office, the teenagers had driven to the property to inquire about using it for homecoming photos. They jumped the fence, but upon finding no one home, they returned to their car to leave a note. It was at this point that Metz arrived and fired a shot, striking the 17-year-old driver.

The sheriff’s office emphasized that the teenagers were no longer on the property when the shooting occurred. They were parked on a public road, writing a note. The investigation is ongoing, and the town of Mountain View has declined to comment on the situation.

This incident raises questions about the use of force and the responsibility of public officials. The injured teenager’s family is understandably distraught, and the community is grappling with the implications of this event.
