Teenager shot while burying family pet in his yard

HOUSTON, TX – An unsettling incident unfolded in Houston early this morning, leaving a local family in distress. An 18-year-old, now recovering at Bin Top Hospital, was shot after burying his pet guinea pig. His mother, Andrea, who requested anonymity, is grappling with the attack’s senselessness and the absence of an arrest.

The young man, after returning from work, buried his pet guinea pig, Cookie, on their property. It was shortly after midnight when he stumbled into his mother’s room, bleeding from a gunshot wound. Andrea recalls his chilling words, “Mom, I love you. Dad, I love you,” as he asked for a rosary, fearing he might not survive.

Surveillance footage reportedly captures the chaos that ensued. The teen and his brother are seen rushing back into their home. Andrea claims her younger son witnessed a neighbor’s relative shoot his brother, though no words were exchanged between the shooter and the victim.

The Houston police are actively investigating the case, but no arrests have been made. The lack of progress frustrates Andrea, who insists, “He needs to be in custody. He needs to be questioned.” Her family has remained by the teen’s side at the hospital since the early hours of the morning.

Andrea hasn’t returned home, not even to change her bloodstained clothes, due to safety concerns. She fears that similar violence could strike her or another family member.

This incident highlights the unpredictability of violence and the impact it has on families and communities, leaving many questions unanswered as the investigation continues.
