Tennessee teen confesses to murdering his mom

An 18-year-old man from Tennessee has been arrested after confessing to shooting his mother in the head and attempting to cover up the crime. William Keaton Hall was apprehended and is currently being held at the Humphreys County Jail in Waverly, Tennessee. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the motive behind the tragic incident.

The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at the residence shared by Hall and his mother, Sherri Hicks Hall, on August 23. Upon arrival, they discovered Sherri’s lifeless body on the property. Hall left the house with his 15-year-old twin brothers and informed them that something had happened to their mother, urging them to go to their grandmother’s house. Shortly after their arrival, a 911 call was made, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Sheriff Chris Davis of Humphreys County revealed that the motive for the crime is still under investigation. He mentioned that there may have been underlying issues that had built up over time, but a clear synopsis is yet to be determined. Hall was taken into custody on August 24, facing charges of criminal homicide. It remains unclear whether he has obtained legal representation.

According to Davis, Hall made efforts to dispose of his mother’s body and hide evidence. Detectives obtained a search warrant before arresting the teenager, and an additional warrant has since been executed as authorities continue to gather evidence from the residence. Davis described the case as complex, with many twists and turns.

Sherri Hicks Hall, 54, was described by a friend and former co-worker as a kind-hearted woman who adored her children. The boys’ father is reportedly absent from their lives, though it is uncertain whether he is deceased or estranged from the family. The news of the alleged homicide has left friends and acquaintances shocked and saddened.

As the investigation progresses, the community hopes for healing and support for the twin boys who have lost both parents. The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office continues to work diligently to uncover the truth behind this tragic event.
