Three men arrested in case of missing teen, but she is nowhere to be found

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – The search for missing teenager Alyssa Petrov continues to grip the community as new developments unfold. Neighbors in Herriman are reacting to the arrest of one of the suspects connected to her disappearance, raising more questions than answers about her whereabouts.

Alyssa’s family remains focused on finding her, expressing frustration that the charges against the suspects, currently held in Salt Lake County Jail, pertain to sexual exploitation and not directly to her kidnapping. “The main question remains: Where is Alyssa, and who is she with?” a family member said.

In the quiet neighborhood of Herriman, police apprehended 41-year-old Samuel Mitchell, who had reportedly been in contact with Alyssa through explicit messages. Cheyenne Larson, a neighbor, expressed disbelief. “It’s unnerving to think this happened so close to home,” she said.

Mitchell allegedly communicated with Alyssa via his phone, exchanging sexually explicit content and videos involving minors. Although he admitted to arranging a meeting with the 15-year-old, he claimed it didn’t occur due to illness.

Meanwhile, attention has turned to Matthew Manard, a Florida resident who recently surrendered to authorities. Alyssa’s father voiced concerns over Manard’s potential involvement. “He may have done more harm, instructing her on how to hide,” he said, casting doubt on Manard’s transparency with investigators.

With three men now in custody, including one in Texas, the search for Alyssa intensifies. Her family remains hopeful for her safe return, maintaining a $20,000 reward for information leading to her recovery.

As the investigation continues, Manard has secured legal representation in Utah. His upcoming court appearance is scheduled for June 2. Details on Mitchell’s legal proceedings remain undisclosed.

The community hopes for Alyssa’s swift and safe return as the legal process unfolds. Her family and neighbors remain vigilant, urging anyone with information to come forward.
