JOLIET, IL – A shooting incident early Sunday morning in a Joliet, Illinois bar left three people injured. As gunfire blazed from an unidentified external source, patrons within Eden Bar and Grill found themselves suddenly under fire around 1:30 a.m. Joliet police are now calling on the public for useful information to aid their ongoing investigation.
The incident left three individuals with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Among them was a 29-year-old man, who sustained three gunshot wounds to his lower body, and two women aged 31 and 25. One female victim suffered a gunshot to her right ankle, while the other took a bullet in her right leg.
First responders, including Joliet Police officers, were at the scene shortly after the shooting providing immediate medical attention to victims until paramedics from the Joliet Fire Department arrived. The two younger victims were later transported to Silver Cross Hospital for further care, while the 31-year-old female victim was taken to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center.
Investigators believe the shots originated from outside the bar and came through into the structure. Shell casings were recovered from around the bar, adding credence to this theory.
The Joliet Police Department is urging anyone with valuable information or video evidence pertinent to the investigation to contact the Joliet Police Department Investigation Division.
