Two-year-old killed in bounce house accident

CASA GRANDE, AZ – A family outing turned into a fatal tragedy when a strong wind gust launched an occupied bounce house into an adjoining area. This horrifying accident led to the untimely death of a 2-year-old boy and injuries to another child, according to Pinal County Sheriff officials.

Police responded to an incident call at a residence on W. Rosemead Drive and N. Bel Air Road around 5 p.m. Saturday. The home is located on the outskirts of Casa Grande, Arizona.

According to reports on the incident, the bounce house became airborne due to a sudden strong gust of wind. Children were still playing inside when it was picked up into the air. After the wind died down again, the bounce house ended up landing in the neighboring lot.

The young boy, whose name is yet to be released, was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The injured second child, thankfully, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office extended its condolences to the bereaved family. As they noted, at this stage, the shocking incident seems like a tragic accident. An investigation is currently taking place in order to determine the precise events leading up to it.
