Wells Fargo worker found dead at office desk

TEMPE, AZ – A distressing situation unfolded at a Wells Fargo corporate office in Tempe, where an employee was found dead at her work desk. Authorities reveal that the employee, 60-year-old Denise Prudhomme, might have been left undiscovered for four days. The incident has launched an investigation and raised concerns about employee welfare.

Prudhomme entered the building using her card scanner at 7 a.m. on August 16, according to Tempe police. It wasn’t until August 20 that building security discovered her unresponsive at her desk and reported it to the authorities. The police arrived at the office building and confirmed Prudhomme’s death.

A colleague initially found Prudhomme in her cubicle on the third floor, a bit isolated from the primary office aisle. A foul smell was noticeable but was initially dismissed as a plumbing issue by several people.

The incident triggered alarm as the Wells Fargo office had 24/7 security in place despite most employees working remotely. One employee expressed concern over the delayed discovery of Prudhomme’s body, blaming it on negligence.

The exact circumstances surrounding Prudhomme’s death, including the cause and precise time, are yet to be determined. While deemed not suspicious, the absence of formal communication from the bank about the incident has upset some employees.

Wells Fargo executives reportedly assured staff that the building had been thoroughly cleaned, and offered counseling services. However, some employees felt a lack of transparency from the bank’s side about the incident.

Authorities stated that there were no initially apparent indications of foul play. The Tempe Police Criminal Investigations Bureau is collaborating with the Maricopa County medical examiner in an ongoing effort to determine the cause of Prudhomme’s death.
