Woman caught trashing stranger’s $1,000 Halloween yard display

TOLEDO, OH – A grisly scene unfolded in the Point Place/Shoreland neighborhood of Toledo when a woman trashed a Halloween display, captured by neighbors on video. The chaotic rampage targeted the home of Bill and Shannon Zeller on Suder Avenue.

The incident occurred on Monday morning, October 7, when the woman was recorded tearing apart the decorations for over half an hour. The Zellers, who set up the display, expressed both frustration and sadness over the damage.

Shannon Zeller noted that the attack not only caused approximately $1,000 in damages but also destroyed items with significant sentimental value. Some of the decorations were handmade together with their children, and her sorrow is magnified by the memory of their son, who passed away in a motorcycle accident last year.

Toledo Police arrested 48-year-old Christina Horvath of Toledo. Before this incident, Horvath had been in custody for allegedly throwing a rock through a car windshield. She now faces fresh charges of criminal damage and theft, as the videos also show her taking items from the Zellers’ property and putting them into her vehicle.

In an effort to cope with the situation, the Zellers added humor to their display by installing a sign that reads, “She Came in Like A Wreckin’ Ball,” referencing Miley Cyrus’s famous music video. The wrecked skeleton is featured riding a decorative wrecking ball.

Bill and Shannon aim to make light of the otherwise distressing episode. Shannon expressed hope that people would see the humorous take as an attempt to lift their spirits despite the loss.

This unfortunate event was caused by an individual unfamiliar to the Zellers before she wreaked havoc on their Halloween display.
