Woman killed by new boyfriend

PENSACOLA, FL – An arrest has been made following a tragic incident involving a young woman who was allegedly killed by her boyfriend. Charles Carson Doughty is facing charges of second-degree murder in connection to the death of Star Tucker, a 30-year-old active member of the Air Force and a graduate of Florida A&M University.

Star Tucker was remembered by her family as a vibrant individual who had recently embarked on a new relationship with Doughty. Her sister, Terra Ceia Tucker, expressed her disbelief and sorrow, describing the event as a nightmare that had become her reality. “I’m exhausted and just trying to make sense of it all,” she said.

The incident unfolded on Thursday night when deputies responded to reports of gunshots at an apartment complex on Baldridge Drive. Upon arrival, they found Tucker in the parking lot, having been shot multiple times. Sheriff Chip Simmons revealed that Doughty allegedly fired up to 16 shots, striking Tucker at least seven times before using her car to run over her.

Despite efforts to save her, Tucker succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The news of Doughty’s arrest came as a shock to her family, who described him as someone who seemed sweet and innocent. “He didn’t give any signs that he could do something like this,” Terra Ceia Tucker lamented.

Investigators tracked Doughty to Baldwin County, Alabama, where he was found in Tucker’s car, reportedly stopped due to a flat tire. He was taken into custody and booked into jail. The arrest raises questions about Doughty’s past, including a previous arrest in Mobile earlier this year as a fugitive wanted for assault in Texas.

Tucker’s family is now grappling with the loss and seeking justice for Star. “We want answers, and we won’t stop until we get them,” her sister affirmed. Authorities are continuing to gather evidence and are working closely with the state attorney’s office to build a strong case against Doughty.

The community mourns the loss of a promising young woman whose life was cut short. As the investigation unfolds, Tucker’s family holds onto the hope that justice will be served, ensuring that Doughty remains behind bars.
