LAKE ELSINORE, CA – A fatal incident took place at a Walmart location in Lake Elsinore on Monday when a woman was stabbed to death inside of the store. This led to a murder investigation by the detectives from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to the store, located in the 29000 block of Central Avenue, around 7 a.m. due to reports of an assault involving a deadly weapon.
The assault, as detailed by Lt. Vickers from the sheriff’s office, occurred inside the Walmart. An eyewitness provided information suggesting that a man had stabbed a woman while they were both inside the store. Efforts were made to provide medical aid to the woman. However, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect connected to this incident was subsequently apprehended. As of now, no additional details have been released regarding the incident.
In response to the tragic event, Walmart issued a public statement: “We’re heartbroken by what’s happened at our Lake Elsinore store. The facility will remain closed as we work with police during their investigation.”
Walmart also expressed its condolences toward the family and friends of the deceased victim who lost their life in the stabbing attack.
