Car crash shootout leaves two people dead

DETROIT, MI – A series of tragic events unfolded on Friday afternoon in Detroit, resulting in two fatalities. The incident, which involved two separate crashes and a subsequent shootout, occurred around 3:10 p.m. on October 6, near Burlingame and Wildemere streets.

According to Detroit Police Chief James White, the sequence of events began when a man driving a pickup truck hit a female motorist. The woman, instead of reporting the incident to the police, decided to follow the man. The man, in his attempt to escape, collided with a minivan, causing it to spin out of control and crash into a tree. The female driver of the minivan, an innocent bystander, was declared dead at the scene.

The man, after the second crash, exited his truck and engaged in a gunfight with individuals who had been contacted by the woman from the first crash. He was later transported to a hospital due to injuries sustained during the shootout, where he succumbed to his wounds.

Police recovered a firearm from the deceased man and a second weapon, believed to belong to one of the individuals called by the woman from the initial crash. Chief White expressed his concern over the unusual nature of the incident, hinting that there might be more to the story than what is currently known.

Authorities are now on the hunt for the woman involved in the first crash and two male suspects. The first male suspect is described as a slim, bald Black man dressed in a white t-shirt, black pants, and tan Timberland boots. The second suspect, also a Black man, was seen wearing a green t-shirt, light-colored pants, and a gray ski mask rolled up on his head. The female driver is described as a Black woman dressed in a green shirt, green pants, and a black vest.

A reward of $1,000 is being offered for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 800-Speak Up.
