Couple’s wedding box stolen by bold bandit

GLENDALE, CA – A wedding celebration for Naen and George Farah turned into a nightmare when their gift box, containing tens of thousands of dollars, was stolen during their reception at the Renaissance Event Venue. The theft, captured on security cameras, has left the couple and their guests in disbelief.

The couple, who had been enjoying what they described as the best night of their lives, were devastated when the party took an unexpected turn around midnight. Security footage revealed an unidentified man, who appeared to blend in seamlessly with the guests, leaving with the gift box filled with cash and checks estimated between $80,000 and $100,000.

Despite efforts to secure the box, the thief managed to escape with it. “He was mingling, holding doors open, and chatting with guests,” Naen said. The Glendale police are treating the incident as grand theft and are actively investigating the case.

Further security footage showed the suspect jumping into a waiting car in the alley behind the venue, facilitating a swift getaway. The couple suspects the thief entered through the front doors and mingled for nearly two hours before executing the heist.

Dressed in black and wearing an earpiece, the suspect’s appearance and behavior have led the couple to believe this may not have been his first time targeting such events. “He seemed prepared and coordinated,” George noted.

A friend of the couple, Jerry Hadad, expressed the collective frustration of the 300 guests. Despite hiring a private security guard, the theft left everyone feeling violated. Attempts to reach the venue for comment were unsuccessful.

For Naen, the loss goes beyond the monetary value. “It’s an invasion of privacy,” she said. “Special notes and congratulations from our loved ones were taken from us.”

The couple hopes that sharing their story will prevent others from experiencing similar heartbreak. “We want justice,” George added, urging anyone with information to come forward.
