(ConservativeStar.com) – It was bad enough when California’s Democratic Governor, Gavin Newsom, was outed by a stranger when a photo surfaced showing him and a group of others dining without their masks at the French Laundry restaurant in Napa Valley. That was the spark that led to the recall campaign. But the backlash he’s getting now, for being inside a closed restaurant, leaves him with only one source to blame … his own TikTok video.
The video appears to be intended as a public service announcement (PSA) with the governor and actor/comedian George Lopez discussing where to find out if a person is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccinations. But it’s what was not intended to be seen that tripped him up when Orange County Chef Andrew Gruel noticed a tray of food and/or drinks reflected in a mirror and put it on Twitter.
California is the only state where indoor dining is banned. Industry gutted. It’s an explosive topic. Politicians are always talking about “optics,” which is about making themselves look good, but this time Newsom didn’t consider the mirror behind him which reflected poorly upon him. Someone overlooked a detail that people are perceiving as yet another politician breaking the rules they themselves put in place.
