POMONA, CA – A violent car crash that took place in Pomona resulted in three deaths and three hospitalizations, with an impaired driver allegedly at fault. The Pomona Police Department reports that the collision occurred late in the evening, before 11 pm, at the intersection of White Avenue and Phillips Boulevard. Emergency services arrived on the scene to discover all victims had sustained injuries of varying severity.
A press release hosted by the Pomona Police Department noted that despite urgent medical attention from the police and the L.A. County Fire Department, two passengers lost their lives at the scene. Another victim died at the hospital. Survivors from the deadly incident were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Initial investigation shows that amongst the six victims, five women were traveling in one car. The other vehicle had a single occupant, 36-year-old Victor Siharath of Pomona.
After a brief interaction with Siharath, the officers determined that he was driving under the influence. He was transported to a local hospital for preliminary care before his arrest on felony driving under the influence charges.
