Father and 6-year-old daughter shot in alleged road rage shooting

A father and his young daughter were injured in a possible road rage shooting in North Las Vegas on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred near Lone Mountain Road and 5th Street, and the victims were later found in the parking lot of an Olive Garden. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting, identified as Zachary Stern, 39, and his nephew, Donavyn Stern, 23.

The North Las Vegas Police Department responded to the scene around 10:50 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a man in his 30s and a 6-year-old girl with gunshot wounds. The victims were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Zachary Stern has been charged with multiple offenses, including destroying and/or concealing evidence, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, resisting a police officer, and failing to ride a bicycle on the right side of the road. Donavyn Stern, on the other hand, faces charges of four counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, two counts of child abuse and/or neglect involving a deadly weapon, and two counts of battery with the use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm.

The police are still investigating the motive behind the shooting and the events leading up to it. They have not yet disclosed any details about the relationship between the suspects and the victims. The victim’s vehicle, a gray Nissan SUV, was found at the scene, while the suspects’ car, a tan Scion xB, has also been located.

The incident has raised concerns about road rage incidents in the area and the potential dangers they pose to innocent bystanders. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
