ST. LOUIS, MO — Four people were killed and six others were wounded in a series of separate shootings across St. Louis and St. Louis County from Halloween afternoon into Sunday, according to police information compiled in local reports.

Later Saturday, St. Louis police conducted a welfare check in the 5300 block of Cabanne Avenue in the Visitation Park neighborhood. Officers found a 42-year-old woman who had been fatally shot. She was discovered at about 8 p.m. on Halloween, although available reports did not establish exactly when the shooting occurred. Police were investigating her death as a homicide.

A 16-year-old boy was wounded at about 10 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Hickory Street in the LaSalle Park neighborhood. Police said the teenager had been shot multiple times and was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Preliminary information reported by local media indicated he was near a bus stop when shots were fired from a passing vehicle.

Shortly after midnight Sunday, St. Louis County officers responded to the 4000 block of North Highway 67 and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One man died at the scene, while the second was taken to a hospital. Police later learned that a third man wounded in the same incident had driven himself to a hospital. Authorities had not publicly announced a motive or said what led to the gunfire.

Another shooting occurred shortly after midnight at a short-term rental in the 5200 block of Washington Place in St. Louis. Police said a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl were wounded while attending a party. Both reached hospitals for treatment, and their injuries were described as non-life-threatening. Investigators had not publicly identified a suspect or announced an arrest in that shooting.

Police were called to the 2700 block of Ann Avenue in the Fox Park neighborhood at about 6:15 a.m. Sunday, where a man was fatally shot. Later Sunday, officers responded to the 1700 block of Marcus Avenue in north St. Louis and found another man critically wounded by gunfire. Police continued investigating the circumstances of both shootings.

The weekend violence prompted renewed community attention Sunday night as St. Margaret of Scotland Church held a prayer vigil honoring young people lost to gun violence. The annual gathering had been planned in remembrance of victims of the 2022 Central Visual and Performing Arts High School shooting, but organizers also reflected on the latest weekend of violence. Police investigations into the separate Halloween weekend shootings remained active Monday, and authorities had not announced that the incidents were connected.
