DENVER, CO – A violent clash at a house party in Denver resulted in the deaths of two people, and another four were injured, according to Denver police. The tragic incident occurred early Sunday and involved a number of uninvited guests whose confrontation with the party’s attendees led to a chaotic shootout.
The victims included a 26-year-old man and a boy, both of whom were fatally injured in the gunfire, the Denver police spokesperson Sean Towle said. He added that the juvenile did not seem to have been part of the initial conflict. Of the four survivors, there are three adults and one whose age remains uncertain. One of the survivors was said to be in a critically injured state.
Towle mentioned that this act of violence did not appear to be random. The authorities were called to the scene in the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood of northeast Denver at 1:23 a.m. Some victims were transported by ambulance to the hospital, while the others managed to get there on their own.
The police are still working to develop information on the potential suspect or suspects. According to Towle, some witnesses might have fled the scene before the police arrived, and he urged anyone with information to come forward.
The identities of the deceased victims will be reported later on by the Denver medical examiner.
