Man arrested for fatally stabbing his girlfriend and her daughter

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Authorities have apprehended the suspect involved in a double stabbing incident that took place in North Lauderdale last weekend, resulting in the death of a woman. The suspect, Vitale Joseph, 56, was initially captured in Brevard County and has now been transferred to Broward County, where he faces serious charges.

The attack unfolded in a townhome on the 1800 block of Runners Way, where officers responded to a distress call reporting two women had been stabbed. The victims, identified as Maggie Pierre and her adult daughter, Isabelle Joseph, were found at the scene. Tragically, Maggie Pierre succumbed to her injuries. She was reportedly the ex-girlfriend of the suspect, Vitale Joseph, although the motive behind the attack remains unclear.

Surveillance footage from a doorbell camera captured Joseph entering the residence just before the incident took place. It was Maggie’s granddaughter who discovered the scene and promptly called 911, leading to a swift police response.

Joseph, now held without bond, faces a first-degree murder charge alongside an attempted first-degree murder charge. His initial court appearance in Broward County is anticipated soon, as the legal process unfolds.

Family members of the surviving victim, Isabelle Joseph, have confirmed that she is currently recovering at home. Although they have chosen not to speak publicly about the traumatic event, they expressed relief at the suspect’s apprehension and the ongoing pursuit of justice.

The community remains in shock as they grapple with the aftermath of this violent act. Many are left questioning the circumstances that led to such a tragedy, while others focus on supporting the victims’ family during this difficult time.

The case continues to develop as investigators work to piece together the events leading up to the stabbing, hoping to provide answers and closure to those affected.
