FORT LAUDERDALE, FL— A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a shooting Saturday morning in Fort Lauderdale, where police said the suspected shooter remained at the scene and was detained.
Fort Lauderdale police responded to the 2300 block of Northwest Ninth Court at about 8:05 a.m. Aug. 22 after receiving a report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found a man who had been shot, according to police. Authorities have not publicly identified the injured man or the person who was detained.
Officers began life-saving measures after finding the wounded man, police said. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue personnel then transported him to Broward Health Medical Center. Police described his injuries as life-threatening. No subsequent update on his condition had been released by early Sunday.
