ARLINGTON, TX – A devastating crash on Interstate 20 in Arlington claimed the life of a 22-year-old man Saturday evening, leading to serious charges for the driver and passengers involved in the incident. Authorities report that the victim was stationary on the shoulder of the freeway when a pickup truck, driven by an allegedly intoxicated motorist, collided with his vehicle.
The tragic event unfolded around 7 p.m. near Bowen Road, where the victim’s Mitsubishi sedan was stopped, possibly due to mechanical issues or lack of fuel. Witnesses observed the pickup truck swerving erratically across lanes before it violently struck the Mitsubishi. The impact propelled the sedan into a concrete guard wall, igniting a fire that ultimately claimed the driver’s life.
According to police, the driver of the pickup truck has been identified as 25-year-old Cesar Ramirez Castro. After the collision, three men reportedly exited the truck and attempted to flee the scene. Ramirez Castro now faces charges of intoxication manslaughter.
