Man pulls gun on pastor in the middle of sermon

NORTH BRADDOCK, PA – A church service took a horrifying turn on Sunday when a Pennsylvania man reportedly pointed a gun at the pastor and attempted to open fire amid the sermon. The frightening episode occurred at Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church in North Braddock, Pennsylvania, shortly after 1:00 p.m. ET, as stated by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Authorities identified the alleged gunman as Bernard Junior Polite, 26. He entered the church during the service and allegedly endeavored to shoot the pastor, Glenn Germany, as the latter was preaching during a live stream.

However, the suspected gunman’s firearm malfunctioned, enabling a congregation member and Pastor Germany to disarm and subdue him before any harm could ensue.

Germany also recollected the chilling moment to the news outlet. He stated that Polite moved from the back to the front of the church and was smiling at him right before the incident occurred.

Pastor Germany also lauded the church member who intervened and subdued Polite, referring to the person as a hero for risking their life for the safety of everyone at the service.

Pennsylvania State Police troopers soon arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody. Although charges have been filed against Polite, further details about his arraignment or legal representation were not immediately available.
