BALTIMORE, MD – In a violent turn of events near Caroline & Hoffman Park in East Baltimore, a hail of bullets claimed a man’s life and injured seven others late Sunday evening. Police officers responded to a call around 8 p.m. in the vicinity of the 1300 block of Spring Street, where they discovered eight gunshot victims between the ages of 22 and 45.
The 36-year-old man died from his injuries while the others were in varying conditions, from stable to critical.
According to police, the shooting erupted during a gathering on Spring Street, and multiple people began firing shots. An expeditious search by officers resulted in the discovery of several guns at the scene. Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley provided details, saying, “It’s a very expansive crime scene.” He additionally added, “The detectives are out speaking with witnesses and residents working to identify any video we can find. What we do know is officers located multiple victims and multiple firearms.”
Authorities are pleading with the public for information about the shooting. They encourage anyone with information to step forward and contact the police or Metro Crime Stoppers.
