MIAMI GARDENS, FL – A violent episode unfolded in Miami Gardens, Florida, where a nude man was reported to have launched a machete attack, resulting in the victim losing a hand.
The distress call was received by the police around 4 a.m. Monday, leading to the discovery of the badly injured man. Besides having a severed hand, the man had bled profusely from a head wound. As per a police report, a machete smeared with blood was found in close proximity to the scene.
Eyewitnesses recall seeing Tyrone Arthur Rhyant, aged 54, fleeing from the horrifying scene completely naked.
On receiving a description of the attacker from the victim, law enforcement agents found Rhyant relaxingly seated on a couch not too far from the horrifying scene.
Police have not yet revealed the motive behind the brutal attack. It was pointed out, however, that the estranged wife of Rhyant, who has a restraining order against him, lives in the vicinity of where the attack happened.
Surprisingly, Rhyant is said to have made a shocking confession when police placed him under arrest. As they were detaining him, he asked, “Is he dead? I tried to kill him.” The victim was quickly transported to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital for necessary medical attention.
Rhyant currently faces the charges of domestic violence/violation of injunction and attempted murder causing injury. He is being detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without the provision of bail.
