Detectives are investigating the attack as a homicide after four adult men were found wounded early Saturday.
LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL — One man died and three others were wounded in a stabbing early Saturday in Lake Worth Beach after an apparent altercation involving several men, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called about 1:20 a.m. Aug. 29 to the 700 block of North F Street after receiving a report of a stabbing. They found four adult men suffering from apparent stab wounds, the Sheriff’s Office said. All four were taken to a local hospital, where one was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
A second victim was being treated for life-threatening injuries, while the other two men suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening, investigators said. Authorities had not publicly released the names of the four men in the reports available Sunday.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division responded and are investigating the death as a homicide. Preliminary information indicated that an altercation involving several men led to the stabbings, but investigators have not released further details about what started the confrontation.
No suspect information had been released, and authorities had not announced a possible motive. Investigators also had not publicly described the relationship, if any, among the four victims or others involved in the altercation.
The stabbing happened in a residential area of North F Street. Residents interviewed by WPTV described the neighborhood as typically quiet and said the large emergency response early Saturday alarmed them.
One resident identified by WPTV as Gloria said she heard emergency vehicles arriving and saw police fill the street. She said the violence left her worried about safety in the neighborhood, particularly for children and people outside at night.
The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains active and ongoing. Detectives have asked anyone with information about the stabbing to contact Crime Stoppers as they work to determine who was responsible and what led to the confrontation.
