FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A tragic explosion rocked a popular marina in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday night, leaving one person dead and several others injured. The blast, which occurred at the 15th Street Fisheries restaurant, was captured on video by bystanders who witnessed the terrifying scene unfold.

The explosion sent intense flames and thick smoke billowing into the night sky, visible from miles around. Eyewitnesses described the chaos that ensued as they rushed to assist the victims. “I ran out there to see if anyone needed help,” said a restaurant worker who recorded the incident. “One man was on fire, and another was in the water. It was sheer chaos.”

Authorities reported that six people were affected by the explosion, five of whom were rushed to Broward Health Hospital with serious injuries. Tragically, one individual was found dead after rescue divers searched the waters for hours. The names of the victims have not yet been released.

The vessel involved in the explosion was docked near fuel pumps, although it remains unclear whether it was actively refueling at the time. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the blast and are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.

In addition to the boat that exploded, a second vessel also caught fire, further complicating rescue efforts. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue captured images of the charred debris scattered across the marina as firefighters worked to control the blaze.
