Pregnant woman violently stabbed at ATM

SAN DIEGO, CA – Police are on the hunt for a man who brutally attacked a 25-year-old pregnant woman in Mira Mesa on Saturday morning, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The terrifying incident happened around 10 a.m. at a drive-through ATM kiosk in the 8200 block of Alta View Drive near the local Target store. The expectant mother was standing outside her vehicle at the ATM when the suspect, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, approached her. Without any apparent provocation, he violently slashed at her with a knife and forced her to the ground before stabbing her two more times.

In a courageous display of resistance, the wounded woman fought back by kicking at her attacker and calling out for help. Thankfully, passersby in the parking lot heard her cries and rushed to her aid. This intervention prompted the suspect to flee the scene.

Despite the horrific ordeal, there was no evidence of an attempted robbery or any other type of exchange between the woman and her attacker leading up to or during the attack.

The victim, who is four months into her pregnancy, endured wounds to her chin, left shoulder, and neck. She was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. In an encouraging update released on Saturday evening, the police reported that the woman had returned home and was recuperating.

Police are still looking for the suspect involved in the case.
