Reckless Motorcyclist Hit By Oncoming Truck After Flipping Off Police Officers During High-Speed Chase

Florida motorcyclist Joshua Richardson is facing multiple charges after he ran a red light in an attempt to flee from the police. He flipped off officers seconds before getting hit by an oncoming truck.

A three-minute video shared by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook shows Deputy Bissonnete trying to pull over a group of motorcyclists. The reckless group were “popping wheelies” on the night of March 3rd.

A high-speed chase ensued after the group ignored authorities’ requests to pull over.

A dashcam video shows the motorcyclists weaving in and out of cars to escape. When they approached a red light, the group ignored it and continued fleeing from deputies.

Richardson, one of the motorcyclists, looked back and flipped police off before continuing into the intersection. However, doing this place him directly into the path of an oncoming truck.

Before being apprehended by police, Richardson survived the crash and tried briefly to escape the scene on foot.

A video released by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office shows Richardson writhing on the ground and complaining of pain. After being handcuffed, Richardson is seen complaining to police in the footage.

Richardson received criminal charges for attempting to elude law enforcement, resisting without violence, and leaving the scene of an accident. In addition, he has received traffic citations for passing through a no-pass zone and failing to stop at a red light.

Volusia County Sheriff’s Office did not disclose whether the truck driver or any other passengers were injured, or whether the other reckless motorcyclists were arrested.
