Shooter kills 15-year-old hours before her middle school graduation

LOWELL, MA – A Massachusetts man has been charged with murder in the killing of a teenage girl just hours before her middle school graduation. 21-year-old Trevor Bady was arraigned on Tuesday on multiple charges, including murder, armed home invasion, and unlawful possession of a firearm. He pled not guilty to all charges.

15-year-old Ahliana Dickey from Lowell was scheduled to attend her eighth-grade graduation on June 14. However, she was found dead inside her home from gunshot wounds before the event took place. The police were alerted of her death when her grandmother reported it after 6 p.m.

It came to light during a press conference by Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan that Bady had been Dickey’s boyfriend for some duration.

The police disclosed that they had received a call on June 14 just after midnight about a noisy altercation between a male and a female who were heard arguing outside. The female was heard screaming, and gunshots were reported in the background. Although the police arrived at the scene promptly, they couldn’t find the pair.

Surveillance video recorded in the vicinity, however, showed a female- later identified as Dickey- crying for help shortly before midnight and a male- identified as Bad- leaving her residence slightly after midnight.

The police disclosed that the male suspect had allegedly taken an Uber to and from Dickey’s home around the time she was shot, and the Uber driver later recognized the passenger as the same.
