ROSWELL, GA – A significant human trafficking network operating within several massage parlors in metro Atlanta has been exposed, leading to the arrest of three individuals, according to the Roswell Police Department. The police department’s detectives had observed suspicious activities at numerous spa locations, which eventually led to the unearthing of this illicit network spread across six spa locations.
Search warrants were executed at these locations, resulting in the arrest of three individuals aged 56, 41, and 36. The trio has been charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and labor trafficking. Roswell Police Chief James Conroy described the operation as one of the largest of its kind in the region, marking a significant milestone in the fight against human trafficking.
The Roswell Police Department has pledged to continue its relentless pursuit of those who exploit and victimize others in the community and beyond. Several victims associated with the spas have been provided with support and resources. Advocates from the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and a local anti-trafficking organization, Out of Darkness, were actively involved throughout the operation, playing a crucial role alongside investigators.
The investigation is still in progress, and further charges and arrests are expected. The public has been urged to provide any additional information to Detective Fields or through Crime Stoppers Atlanta.
Roswell Mayor Kurt Wilson hailed the investigation as a critical step towards eliminating illicit activities within massage parlors and spas, halting human trafficking, and making Roswell the top family community in America. The investigation follows the implementation of a new city ordinance in May 2022, aimed at strengthening regulation and enforcement measures for massage parlors and spas. The Special Investigations Section (SIS) of the Roswell Police Department has been leading the enforcement of the updated ordinance through several undercover operations in local spas.
