Deputies found 64-year-old Aubrey Sanders dead Thursday at a home on Stoneside Drive after receiving an emergency call.
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A 30-year-old man has been charged with murder after authorities said his father was stabbed to death Thursday at a home in northwest Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities identified the defendant as Liam Jacob Sanders. Deputies were called at about 11:05 a.m. Aug. 27 to a residence in the 16700 block of Stoneside Drive, near Longenbaugh Drive. Officials said the emergency caller reported that he had stabbed his father.
When deputies arrived, they located Sanders and detained him at the scene, authorities said. Inside the home, deputies found 64-year-old Aubrey Sanders with stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s office later announced that Liam Sanders had been charged with murder and booked into the Harris County Jail. A murder charge is an allegation, and the case has not been adjudicated.
Investigators have not publicly said what they believe led to the stabbing. Authorities also have not announced a motive or released further details about what happened immediately before deputies were called to the home.
The sheriff’s office said deputies had previously responded to the same location in May 2025. Officials said one call involved a domestic disturbance and another involved a mental health warrant case in which the person involved was taken for emergency detention. Authorities have not said those earlier calls caused or contributed to Thursday’s violence.
Local reports differed slightly in how the defendant’s name was presented. FOX 26 Houston identified him as Liam Jacob Sanders based on information attributed to the sheriff’s office, while ABC13 referred to him as Jacob Sanders. Both reports identified the defendant as 30 years old and the victim as his 64-year-old father, Aubrey Sanders.
The investigation remained active as authorities worked to establish the circumstances surrounding the death. No additional explanation for the stabbing had been publicly released as of Friday, and officials had not announced further findings about what led to the encounter.
